Life in Echo Park

North of Downtown L.A. is where you'll find Echo Park. A place where i was born and raised... A place where i can always find solitude with its distant echos. Not your typical neighborhood in Los Angeles. This is life here...

My Second Restored Auto

before restoring (black top)

I bought this for $300- and it was in running condition but needed lots of work in and out. I restored it years agobut then the clutch went out and as it sat in my driveway one rainy season, water crept into the motor area and managed to fill one of my cylinders (i left one spark plug loose). The engine was now seized up and no good unless i rebuilt it. Long story short - Inow have a new and bigger engine and i need to finish the wiring next then begin on the inside and out once again. Same color only alil more deeper red/burgandy but basically the same. This was a real project then and again but fun and worth it. My favorite top down cruising...a warm summer night on alonely desert highway.

Chill'in By The Fireplace

Its going good...
A pretty cool night and ripe for sparking up the backyard pit. I always like to kick it and do a lil thinking, a lil music or maybe a lil TV to the right in the gazebo. I made it so the Tele, swings out in any direction(not shown). Sounds like i'm doing a lil bragging here huh? Dam right! I always take pride in my recreational creations etc. I enjoy doing it and then...I ENJOY IT when completed! Works for me!

Felt Like a Sloppy One

Every once in a while i head over to tommys for a heart clogging (and worth it!) hamburger. Well not one but two! Might as well live on the edge! And then always with bbq chips and a few choice tasty yellow chilies!
I always pay the price the next day too! yikes! On occassion i'm at Pinks too, but not lately...maybe tomorrow. Some people hate me for not ever gaining weight. Its not my fault! I try, but i burn it off (for the most part) . How sad huh?

Something To Listen To...

I used to listen to this radio station every night at 2am while driving as a courier in 1982. It was a very interesting radio broadcast where various peoples of all backgrounds are not only giving their story of God and their Salvation but its actually a play, so to speak.
I lost track of it shortly thereafter but years later found it on the internet! They really do put this program of plays together well. I was so impressed then and now that i just had to put it here for anyone curious enough to see what i'm saying. Yes its a "religious" program but its not a preaching or money begging kind. Just a radio show with actors doing a find job of re-enacting some lost soul's life. It reminded me every time of something we all lose track of in our lives...HOPE (click on logo)
